The “Tenuta degli Angeli” is in the Olympus of wines for the second consecutive year

The classic method of the Bergamo winery wins an encore Gold Medal at the Vinitaly 2015 International Wine Competition
Standing out once is already hard, but confirming yourself is even harder. Especially when it comes to a sector like the wine one where competition is very high.
But for Tenuta degli Angeli everything is possible thanks to an all-female stubbornness, a tradition that comes from afar and research that continues every year.
And here for the second consecutive year the The Testa family estate was awarded the gold medal at the 22nd edition of the International Wine Competition, the competition linked to Vinitaly which sees the most prestigious wines in the world competing. He did it with his Brut degli Angeli 2011 vintage in the classic method sparkling wines category (produced with fermentation in the bottle).

Obtained from 100% Chardonnay grapes, the Brut “Degli Angeli” remains on the yeasts in the bottle for 36 months, with the addition of liqueur. At sight it is characterized by its white, creamy, sometimes evanescent foam. In the glass it appears intense straw yellow in color and reveals an evolved bouquet, with fruity and floral notes. The perlage is minute and continuous. In the mouth the taste is dry, fresh, splendidly elegant.

A winning path for this family business which has once again managed to stand out with its labels in a world, like that of wine, which is predominantly male. This is in fact the fourth medal won in the history of Tenuta degli Angeli at Vinitaly: two silvers respectively in 2008 with the Brut “degli Angeli” vintage 2002 and in 2009 with the “Extra Brut degli Angeli” vintage 2001 and a Gold in 2014 with the Extrabrut 2009 vintage.

“Winning the gold medal again with one of our wines truly fills us with pride – he states Manuela Ghidini, owner of the Tenuta degli Angeli company who, thanks to his commitment to the territory, received the Merit from the Bergamo Chamber of Commerce last November -. It is a great satisfaction that repays all the efforts that my children and I have made to reach the levels of excellence that are recognized today. I am very satisfied for our company but also for Bergamo viticulture which is proving to have more and more quality production. Furthermore, with Expo just around the corner, I hope that this recognition can also represent an opportunity to enhance our territory".

The 22nd International Wine Competition, recently concluded in Verona, confirmed itself as the most selective in the world: in fact, only 75 medals were awarded out of over 2600 wines presented from 32 different countries. The event, organized by the Verona Fair Authority, aims to highlight the best wine production, make it known to consumers and operators and reward and stimulate the effort of wineries to continuously improve the quality of their products.

Some bottles of the “Brut 2011” Gold Medal sparkling wine will have a place of honor in the space that theUniversal Exposition will dedicate to wine. And the Brut 2011 award ceremony will take place right in the Pavilion "Wine – A taste of Italy”.
